10 billion stars in 100 billion galaxies
Written on: Monday, January 17, 2011
Time: 7:14 AM

" He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Great is our Lord and mighty in power;  His understanding has no limit. "
Psalm 147:4-5
" Is not God in the heights of heaven? And see how lofty are the highest stars!"
Job 22:12
Fun Fact 1: We live in the galaxy known as the Milky Way and in our galaxy there are more than 10 billion stars present including Earth.
Fun Fact 2: So far, humans have found more than 100 billion galaxies, and each galaxy has approximately 10 billion stars.

Can you imagine how many stars there are in the entire universe? In my opinion, the amazement does not come knowing that there are billions of stars present. What amazed me was that God made them all and He knows them by name. And if He were to know every single star, what would stop Him from knowing every single one of us here on Earth. Absolutely nothing! Stars are rocks, and He knows them by name. We, His precious children that He sent His only Son to die for, would definitely be much more significant.

As for the verse in Job, God tells Job that He is in the heights of heaven, and when he look upon the stars he would know how great God is. 10 billion stars in 100 billion galaxies. A number human could not even define! And that is merely the ones we discovered, what about those we hadn't discover. God is infinite. So what are the problems that we are so greatly disturbed by? The problems that we think too big for Him to fix. The problems we refuses to let Him take charge of because we would not believe that He could settle it. Let us not forget that we are talking about He who made more than a zillion stars in this universe, He who stretches the entire universe and treads on the waves of the sea(Job9:8). How great is our God!

When our fears and problems seem so great, that it hinders us from believing in Him. Look at the stars, and know How Great is Our God.

P.S check out this two songs after reading and you'll find yourself feel with awe as you sing along : ) And no, it's not how great is our God.

Importance of Prayer.
Written on: Sunday, January 16, 2011
Time: 7:28 AM

Hey guys as promised I will be posting a post today! Haha. Okay, so have you ever wondered what is so important or rather the value of prayer. I mean I'm sure you all would wonder like, prayer is just prayer right. Not like you have to do it everyday.

So let me share something that I have learned from a sharing by the leader that led me, Mag and Rui Hang to Batam for mission trip. The passage is from Hebrews 9:1-15.

1 Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary. 2 A tabernacle was set up. In its first room were the lampstand and the table with its consecrated bread; this was called the Holy Place. 3 Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, 4 which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. 5 Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.

6 When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly into the outer room to carry on their ministry. 7 But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. 8 The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still functioning. 9 This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. 10 They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings—external regulations applying until the time of the new order.

The Blood of Christ
11 But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here,a]">[a] he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. 12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtainingb]">[b] eternal redemption. 13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. 14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death,c]">[c] so that we may serve the living God!

15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
-(New International Version, ©2010) from Biblegateway.com

So from verse 1- 3, it talks about the tabernacle that was designed at the old testament days. Where it was created by human mans after Moses led the Israelite out of Egypt. The purpose of having the tabernacle at that time was to show God's present with His people - and hence provide Israelite a sense of security and assurance. At Exodus 25:8 shows the purpose of the tabernacle.

And from verse 6- 7, it tells us that only the high priest can enter the Most Holy Place. And it also says that, whenever that the high priest enter he must shed blood. And by shedding blood, it means that the high priest commit the sins that he and his people have made to God. This implies that the Israelite have to wait for a year to let the high priest redeem their sins. God is smart in using this way as when the Israelite sees the blood and dying animals, it will be a constant reminder for them not to sin.

However, from verse 8 - 9, it says that the sacrifice made by the high priest is still not sufficient as every year he still would have to go in to the Most Holy place to offer blood as sacrifice for all the sins committed.

So to have an eternal solution to this problem, here comes Jesus. From verse 11-12 it says that Christ came as the high priest and sacrifice with His own blood. This is a more perfect and powerful high priest compared to the high priest mentioned in verse 6 - 7. And if you look back at verse 3, remember there is a thick curtain that separates the Holy place from the Most Holy place. This thick curtain, in the older days in the tabernacle, implies the separation of human from God.

But however in Mark 15:38, when Jesus died on the cross. The curtain of the temple (which is the tabernacle) was torn from head to bottom. Take note that it is head to bottom, and it is a very thick curtain. It was torn from head to bottom, shows that it is not torn by man and neither could man tear in by hand as it is so thick. This is a miracle that God has made. And also the torn curtain shows that the connection between God and Human is reconnected.

Human is no longer separated from God. And through the blood of Christ, we are able to talk to God, go to church and know God. This is a privilege bought at a high price, the blood of God's only son, and therefore prayer though it's small and seem insignificant, still we must cherish the opportunity for us to pray. So don't moan and groan when people appoint you to pray, instead cherish it and thank our Lord Jesus for this opportunity to do so!

A verse to remember after reading this:

15For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

Hope that you all will learn much from this sharing I've made. God bless you all (: And have a blessed week ahead.

Love,
Winnie.

Hello People! This is Minnie, your very lovable and generous youth leader : )

A new year has begin with many exciting events, challenges to overcome and lessons to learn ahead of us : )

Yes, we may be small in amount; young at heart, but when we continue to gather together and encourage one another, God would use us as a youth fellowship for His Work that is beyond our expectations : )

This year, i'm hoping that each and everyone of you could use this blog to share your personal reflection during your quiet time; one that you think would help inspire and motivate others, and also your daily testimony. Let this blog not become one that is merely a notice board where we announce events that are coming up, but also a site where we testify how God's amazing grace bring us through in our ordinary days of life.
I will not make a duty rooster for people to share neither would i stare and glare at you every Sunday so you'll write something. But i'm praying that God would inspire each and everyone of you to testify joyously as with what Christ has done for us, this is the least we could do.

So enough said! For those who does not have a blogger account, you are encouraged to get one and start posting!!

Lastly, let me share with you guys a verse from Hebrews 10: 22- 25 that i hope we all could hold on to as a statement for the youth fellowship this year : )

"Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having out hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.
And let us consider how we may spur on another on toward love and good deeds.
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Love,
Minnie
